PVE Health Degeneration
I was just wondering, because I wanted to combine [skill]Incendiary Arrows[/skill] (skill is not updated, it now hits up to 3 foes and causes burning for 1-3 seconds) with [skill]Apply Poison[/skill] for PVE purposes, but I've read somewhere that 10 ticks of health degeneration was max, does this also apply to the monsters you fight in PVE? If so, I think I'll just stay with [skill]Ignite Arrows[/skill], but now that brings up another question, I can shoot up to a total of 3 arrows using Incendiary Arrows, when the arrows exploded due to Ignite Arrow, do I get 3 exploding arrows, thus possibily hitting twice with the explosion? Like once to the targeted foe, then again to the same targeted foe from the explosion of an adjacent foe?

I think u can have only 1 preparation per time.
IMO it's waste of time and energy to use Incendiary Arrows for one or two attacks then Apply Poison for one or two attacks (or Ignite Arrows) ...

Oh thank you, that was a quick response. I was looking through all the non-elite preparations again, and noticed [skill]Choking Gas[/skill] looked pretty appealing with [skill]Incendiary Arrows[/skill]. Question about Choking Gas, when I hit a targeted foe, that targeted foe is not hit with Choking Gas, only adjacent foes have their spells interrupted? But if I am able to shoot 3 arrows out, I am pretty much guaranteed to at least interrupt 3 spells during their cast?
I know this isn't a "suggestions" forum, but any opinions on the best preparation for combing with the new "Incendiary Arrows"? I personally like Ignite Arrow and now maybe Choking Gas

I wouldn't use Choking Gas because it has a short duration and high energy cost. You would run out of energy quickly maintaining Choking Gas. Stick with disrupting shot and savage shot for interrupts when running incendiary arrows.

I think it is "AoE Gas" so should be all foes in adjacent radius of foe that is hit

Choking Gas is one of those skills that pretty much requires [Practiced Stance] for it to be useful at all, and TBH I've never liked it even then.
BTW -10 is max degen, but you can still add degen on top. For example if you've done multiple mass degen skills like [Conjure Nightmare] and [Life Transfer], they'll have -10 degen effect, but it would add to -15 or so. Now say an enemy manages to get off [Troll Unguent] - even if it's a +10 Troll, they're still feeling -5 degen.
BTW Zaph what part of Nainoa's response makes it seem like IA is a prep? Dshot and Savage Shot are interrupts regardless of anything else.

It was the "AoE Gas" that seemed so appealing to me, especially since casters are usually clustered up; if I can interupt 3 casters 3 times over 10 seconds, that seems quite appealing.

The problem with Practiced Stance + Choking Gas: it uses up your stance as well as only shoot 1 arrow at a time, but with incendiary arrow, something I am spamming like mad, sometimes the only attack spell I am casting, the 3 arrows + choking gas spread might work efficiently? even if the prepartion is 10 or so seconds?

10 en degen is max. Having said that, combining [incendiary arrows] with [apply poison] is much better than with [ignite arrows] unless you are also using [mark of rodgort]. However, you are fooling yourself if you think you will be better at applying mass burning than an ele would be.
Applying 2 conditions is always better than applying one, regardless of the numbers.

If I had a chance to do good dmg on a ranger instead of degen I think I would take it...

The max degen at one time is -10 but lets say you are dishing out -10 degen that foe gets with [Healing Breeze] for +lets say 6 regen, that degen now becomes -4 so while [Healing Breeze] is actived you can stack another -6 for the max degen again. Same goes vise versa for regen.
